Rebuilt and reopened in 2024 near Mid-Lothian Mines Park. It has interactive features for children inside and out, including an outdoor classroom and reading garden. Hours are Mon–Thu 9 AM–8 PM and Fri–Sat 9 AM–5 PM, closed Sunday. Story times are listed on the library events calendar, and some require registration.

A free county nature center with native reptiles and amphibians and informative displays. It is open Fri–Sun, 10 AM–3 PM. Groups of 10 or more are asked to give a day’s notice.
